Day 5 -At Sea - Wednesday

We spent this day (Nov 10) at sea on our way from Taha'a to Aitutaki. Our captain warned us about a storm we were sailing towards, but fortunately we were able to skirt it - as you can see with this rather dramatic photo.

There were gorgeous flower arrangements all around the ship and this one was in La Palette cafe/bar in the aft of the ship. They had entertainment there, some special events, and they would open the glass doors up in the evening for dancing and easy access to the aft deck tables and chairs.

Here's La Palette set up for afternoon tea - or Ti No Avatea (in Tahitian). They had cream, scones, preserves, finger sandwiches, fruit, pastries, etc. etc. and of course tea and coffee. No one ever goes hungry on a cruise ship.

The passing of the 'big storm' gave us a wonderfully dramatic sunset. Most evenings, several of us went on deck to wait for the 'green flash' as the sunset disappears behind the horizon - unfortunately, most evenings had clouds so I never did see the 'flash'.

On board we had several young ladies called The Gauguines who entertained us, held classes in various Tahitian arts and made us all feel so welcome. This young lady danced for us in her own wedding dress during dinner.
